Harding Snaps Losing Streak

The area’s longest losing streak has been snapped. After 19 straight losses, Harding defeated Bullard-Havens at Kennedy Stadium last night 32-14.

Two things to consider here: One is that Harding was drubbed by Fairfield Warde 43-0 just six days earlier. And due to poor field conditions at Bullard-Havens, its Week 10 game against Wright Tech/Stamford Academy was postponed and made up on Monday, giving the Tigers just two days to get healed up and ready for Harding.

But still, you’ve got to play the games. And Bullard-Havens did lose big to SWC Patriot Division champ Joel Barlow in its week one conference, so maybe the Tigers are what has been said about them the past two seasons: a good team in the Constitution State Conference.

And maybe last night, they were the more tired team.

Harding could have been the more distracted one, with its school in lockdown Tuesday because of random fights breaking out in the hallways and four students being sent to the hospital. So great job by Harding to stay focused.
