Man, what a difference one year makes for the New Haven Register. Last year I complained that its online All-State team presense was lacking, this year it got its own home in cyberspace. It’s filled with some bells and whistles, but not overdone. Great job (even though New Canaan quarterback and BlueStreak Sports Training Faifrield County Offensive Player of the Year Nate Quinn made the team as a defensive back).

The county is represented by Mark Harrison (Bunnell), Chris Sloat (Bunnell), Chris Hines (Norwalk), Matt Baker (Ridgefield), Quinn and Kurt Ondash (New Canaan) and Brian Kosnik (Darien).

Also, the Connecticut Post’s All-Star Football Team has been announced, and Ondash is that publication’s MVP.

The CHSCA didn’t announce its teams yet, but they’ve been chosen and the players have gone for their photos and whatnot. If anyone has access to the teams and wants to share, please e-mail me or post them below.

Here are the ZERO TOLERANCE rules if you want to leave a comment:
  • No hating: Constructive criticism is fine (example: "I think the team should have punted on fourth down."). Being mean-spirited is not acceptable. If a player wins an award, don't disrespect the accomplishment. If a team wins, be gracious about the win and humble in defeat.
  • No homophobic slurs: If you don't know what a homophobic slur is, then Google it.
  • No racial slurs
  • No derogatory slurs
  • Nothing libelous or slanderous (example: "The coach stole money from the booster club." or "The player is moving back to Texas after the game." or "The poll is rigged.") If you have no proof, don't jeopardize the integrity of the blog.
If you break the rules, you will be banned from leaving comments. If you are not sure you're going to post a comment that may break the rules, e-mail Tim Parry before you write: tim@fciacfootballblog.com.

This whole list is very bias. Although these are all good players, many players are left out because there teams arent that good. A couple good examples are Ryan Mannion from Immaculate, Stuart Armstrong from Danbury, and Ben Amy from Joel Barlow. Mannion had almost 700 yards receiving (with 140 against Masuk who is arguably the best team in the state) and led the SWC Patriot division in tackles. Amy had about 1,000 yards rushing with an average of over 7 yrds a carry and gathered up 170 against Brookfield. Armstrong had similar stats to Amy and almost 300 rushing yrds against Rutland, VT.
