King Falls In Bowl Game 34-13
November 21, 2009 in King by timparry

King fell to Suffield Academy today 34-13 in the NEPSAC Del Prete-Theobold Bowl, held at Kingswood-Oxford School.
Silas Redd did go over 2,000 yards rushing for the season, though he got just 93 yards on the day. He finished the season with 2,017 yards.
But other than that, the King offense was little match for the Suffield Academy defense, which is led in part by Nick DiRubio, who was BlueStreak Sports Training’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. The former New Canaan star is doing a postgrad year at Suffield Academy, and also starts at center.
DiRubio said the King offense didn’t do anything that wasn’t expected, which explains why Suffield Academy was able to dominate.
I’ll have some video from the game up soon, and an interview with DiRubio.
