Big Time, keep yer shirt on ;)

I've notified the player's coach. Once he passes the word along to the player, I'll post it.

Will we have a player of the year by January 1st? The season ended weeks ago, are we waiting till spring to begin? It takes college less time to decide the Heisman Trophy.

Just breaking some stones.....

Big Time, slow down! Just kidding, I appreciate the comments.

But first, about Jordan sucking wind against Staples (well, that was bigworm23's phrase): Did Mark Ingram not deserve the Heisman because he rushed for 30 yards against Auburn? I know it's apples to oranges. You bring up a great point about good coaches making good adjustments. Staples had a great plan to contain him.

As for the Cochran rumor, the same source of Cochran-to-McMahon also told me last season that the entire Staples staff was going over to Fairfield Prep, and Pinto got the job over there. So I'm taking it with a grain of salt and not enticing any riots.

Now 2009-10 is a different story. We're talking about a free-agent head coach being rumored for a vacant position, not a coach currently in a job rumored to be moving his entire staff to another school. So, yeah, maybe it's worth discussing, but I don;t really want to fuel a rumor.

Tim,
Can you chime in and give us the latest update on Cochran to McMahon? I hear the talks are really heating up. I'm surprised we dont have a post entirely about it.........

Renkowitz had a heck of a year. Hes is impressive. Didn't see much of Baty even though you hear everything about him. Metakavich is a man child. He was a man among boys at times this year. But Tommy Jordan? ugh. Don't get me wrong, great size, big time recruit, potential and all that but not the player of the year. I have seen him play 3 times. Once was the Staples game where he was sucking wind, had his hands on his hips half the time, and spent more time with the trainer then he did on the field. He is good, but some of you guys are acting like he changed the position of DT and OT at the high school level. I just didn't see that gentleman...

Jordan had 8 tackles with 5 of them coming in the first quarter when Staples was running up the gut. Staples finally made an adjustment and Jordan was a non factor from the second quarter on. Tim you ever hear of a basketball player scoring a bad 20 points? Stats arent everything, especially when you lose 30-0. Good coaches make adjustments and so do good players. Jordan is a tremendous player and will be even better next year, but for this year Metakavich, Baty, and Renkowitz are all more deserving.

To me it has to be Tyler Matekevich from St.Joe's...I really think that young man is going up the ladder..He has another year in High School where he can only get better, if not bigger...He's got size enough already for big time football...

I'll admit, and my blog handle gives it away, that I'm probably biased, but I also think QB Lefflbine from Greenwich is going places, too...

For me, it's a toss up....

Big Time, you missed a good game: Jordan had 8 tackles that game.

Here's Jordan's stats for the season: http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/a6lQut-SC0mzirw5Z5cCUQ/football-fall-09/stats-thomas-jordan.htm

Burmaroad what are you talking about with Baty and Metakavich? They both lead their teams to state titles lolol...You want to recommend Tommy Jordan who wanted no part of the blow out loss to Staples. Where was Tommy that game? As I looked across the field in the third quarter with Staples leading 16-0, Tommy was laying on sidelines (complaining of cramps). I tend to think the cramps started when Ridgefield realized they couldnt pick up a simple first down.
