Grip It and Rip It Update: 18 Teams Committed

Not much more to report about the Fairfield County 7 on 7 Grip It and Rip It Passing Tournament, which is just a few weeks away. The field is up to 18 teams (not including two representing New Canaan). The most recent additions are Brookfield, Trinity Catholic, Iona Prep, Lowell (Mass.) and Immaculate.

You can find more info about the tournament in this earlier post, including a roster of teams that have committed.

If you have any questions or would like to get your team involved, check out BigSkillsClinnic.com or e-mail Joe Bouffard at coachbouf@yahoo.com or John Marinelli at john.l.marinelli@gmail.com. The tournament is presented by BlueStreak Sports Training and the FCIAC Football Blog.

Garrett Brown Signs With Chiefs

Garrett Brown came to Fairfield Prep with hopes of starring on its ice hockey team. Now, twincities.com reports that Brown, a four-year starter at defensive tackle at Minnesota, has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
