You have accomplished so much in your young life, and you have done so with great class and character. Keep working hard and great things will come to you. You have all the tools to be a star, and a 'rocket' arm, just like your Dad! We all look forward to watching your stellar career at Vandy.
All the Best - The Kemmerlys

Comment on McCloskey Named Ludlowe's Head Coach

I know you guys should be better, but didn't you have a bunch of three year starters like sav last year? it takes more than just experience, the young kids have to step up too.

Comment on McCloskey Named Ludlowe's Head Coach

All i know is that Ludlowe will be better than 1-9 there will be a bunch of 3 year starters next year that will add big contributions

Comment on Marinelli to Coach Fairfield County All-Stars

DewayneD,

I'm looking forward to that game, too, especially with all the kids from this area who are going to be playing. Definitely not fair that you and Trevardo can't play in both.

By the way, Super Sleuth Sean Patrick Bowley has those Governors Cup rosters posted here: http://forum.connpost.com/highschoolsports/archive/2008/03/ct_football_gov.html
Comment on Marinelli to Coach Fairfield County All-Stars

I was an assistant to Coach Cadelina last year on the Fairfield team and I was so excited to have a chance to play for the team the next year.

But unfortunately for me I'm in a class of 30 seniors and each guy is talented. Two of us are on the All State team, Trevardo and myself, and because we're in that game we're not eligible to play for Fairfield. There are just too many of us and not enough roster spots for each team. Each team is alotted 3 spots and those are for some of our other guys that are some players.

But on a lighter note there are 5 FCIAC players on the All State team.

Comment on Things Looking Good at Trinity Catholic

Coach Fox and his staff are doing a terrific job, with limited resources. Win or lose, he's a great mentor for the young adults at Trinity. His coaching staff is second to none. My son is lucky to be part of the program.

Comment on Shoot Me: I'm Going To a UConn Women's Basketball Game

Hi Tim,

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.
Does your nephew play in Fairfield County? If so, which team?
Since I am GreenwichJim, I know the most about Greenwich rugby. They have an excellent website at http://www.greenwichrugby.com/ There are links there to various general info websites (so you can get a feel for rugby), and also some links to videotapes of Greenwich at the Northeast and National Championships in 2007, posted on You Tube (which were filmed, edited and posted by yours truly)

Staples has a nice website (which appears to need updating) at www.staplesrugby.com/

Darien is at www.freewebs.com/darienrugby/

Fairfield Prep is at their school website http://www.prep.fairfield.edu/atschool/athletics.htm - note that they play Staples April 3 at FP - should be a good game

To find out the most about a game, you probably would want to go to a game and have what is going on on the field translated by a coach, player, or knowlegeable spectator. It is an easier game to "get" than you might think.
GHS is playing the Connecticut Yankees (which is really the Norwalk High School team - but is a club, as you noted above) on Thursday April 3 at Norwalk (go to GHS website for directions to field.)

Let me know if you plan on going to the GHS game, I can either try to meet you there myself (my worklife permitting), or try to have one of the GHS coaches describe the game to you.

Greenwich is on a huge collision course with Xavier of Manhattan on May 4. Xavier has won the past 6 Northeast Championships, beating GHS for the honors for the past 3 years in a row.

Comment on New Lacrosse Beginning in New Canaan

Tim, long time no see. Sure it is not best for the lacrosse team this year to deal with a lawsuit. But it was not best for the team for the administration to unceremoniously get rid of the head coach just before the season. It would be best for the team to show respect for the man who built the entire lacrosse program and carried it up to today. From what I hear, Benedict and his supporters have tried throughout to avoid or minimize impact on the players and the season but it is the administrations decisions that have created and perpetuated the problems. It is asking a lot for one guy to make all the sacrifice and go quietly away.

By the way, I hope you are doing well.

-Matt

Comment on Ludlowe Head Coach Mike Forget Resigns

WOW it's just astonishing to me that you feel that all the blame falls on the players fault. As much as i like forget everyone knows that he isnt good coahc material. Even you know that deep down inside. There's a reason why kids dont want to go spend hours of their preshish time in the weight room. No it's not because there lazy or they dont care, the fact of the matter is who would want to keep putting in so many hours of hard work weekly when all we get in return is two 1-9 seasons back to back? mainly jeff what you are saying is only because of the relationship you and coach forget personally have together. I think that it's wrong that you blame all the players about the whole situation instead of addressing it the right way. Even coach forget knew that he couldn't get the job done and i respect him for being a man and leaving it instead of trying to keep doing something that he couldn't. I am glad the there will hopefully be a whole new coaching staff and i hope we could really get this program on the run.

Comment on Remember...
